RE-CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR MG&A PERFORMANCE-BASED CERTIFICATION
MG&A’s performance-based certification in the areas of Discovery, Job Development and Systematic Instruction is valid for three years. If a person wishes to pursue re-certification in any or all of the three areas, we require a re-certification fee of $150.00 per area. The new certificate will be valid for an additional three years. It is not required for a person who wishes to re-certify in any of the performance-based certification areas to attend another Gateway training.
There is a major distinction between the original performance-based certification process and the re-certification process. The re-certification process does not involve a mentoring component. Rather, the person pursing re-certification self selects their own documents that meet MG&A requirements, including the Universal Essential Elements of Customized Employment, to submit to an MG&A reviewer. The purpose of the re-certification process is to verify the person continues to meet MG&A standards in the specific area of re-certification.
Complete the re-certification application by clicking on the link below. MG&A will invoice you or your agency for the re-certification fee. MG&A will email you the specific requirements within two weeks after you register.

The MG&A Seven Phase Sequence Template Form (found on the MG&A website under Resources) is what is required to be submitted for recertification. You can reference an employment placement or first day of work simulation that you yourself facilitated, or one that a staff person whom you supervise facilitated. a. Document the components of Systematic Instruction and Seven Phase Sequence as listed under each area of the Seven Phase Sequence Template.
b. Demonstrate your understanding of Systematic Instruction including types of job tasks, method, topographical correctness, content task analysis, informing strategies, and decision-making on how you implemented the Seven Phase Sequence.
